Paamsongre: The Story

Paamsongre began as a graduate school assignment—an experiment in creating a personal teaching website. What started as a simple project quickly evolved into a dynamic journey of innovation, collaboration, and growth.
Founded by Dr. Ritassida Mamadou Djiguimde, Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from Ball State University and an Associate Professor of English at Southern Arkansas University, Paamsongre reflects his passion for blending teaching and technology. With over 14 years of teaching experience spanning diverse courses and contexts—from high schools in Burkina Faso to universities in the United States—Dr. Djiguimde’s expertise and vision shape every aspect of this platform.
Paamsongre grew out of a need for greater flexibility and accessibility in teaching. What began as a basic repository of course descriptions and syllabi transformed into a comprehensive teaching tool. Guided by student feedback and enriched by Dr. Djiguimde’s extensive scholarship in linguistics, composition, semiotics, visual rhetoric, digital literacy, multimodality, e-learning, and natural language processing, Paamsongre embodies his belief that online teaching platforms should be built by educators, for educators, with students’ success at the center.
Through key milestones—migrating to advanced web tools, integrating innovative features, and designing a prototype informed by hands-on user research—Paamsongre steadily advanced toward its ultimate vision. The result is a platform that combines the precision of academic LMS functionality with the adaptability of a user-centered approach.
